Here are some links to some resources that may be useful to Cybersecurity students at UT:

  • Microsoft Azure Program
    • This website provides access to dozens of free software, including copies of virtual machines (Windows 10/Windows Server iso files) and Microsoft Visio to UT students registered in ITM or ACC courses.
  • Virtualbox
    • Free software to run virtual machines. Useful for running other operating systems such as Kali Linux, Ubuntu, Windows 10, Security Onion, pfsense, etc.
  • Kali Linux
    • Linux distribution designed for digital forensics and penetration testing.
  • Splunk
    • Software platform to search, analyze and visualize the machine-generated data. Register for the Splunk training courses included in the Splunk Pledge Program (Splunk Fundamentals I and Fundamentals II) using your student email. 30 day trial.
  • Security Onion
    • Free and open source Linux distribution for intrusion detection, enterprise security monitoring, and log management.
  • Wireshark
    • Free and open-source packet analyzer.
  • Cybrary
    • Free and open-source learning for Cybersecurity training such as Security+, Network+, Penetration Testing, etc.
  • How to Build a Cybersecurity Career
    • Everything you need to know about careers and how to be successful in Cybersecurity. From landing your first Cybersecurity job to mastering professionalism.
  • Cyber Degrees
    • A guide for choosing the right career path in Cybersecurity. Whether is in the government or private sector, there is an opportunity you can explore.
